Researchers have access to a summary of their own records and can view the summaries of others’ records. The summary provides an easy way to visualize trust markers and better understand the contents of an ORCID record. What does a record summary contain?
The summary allows for a quick and easy understanding of the ORCID record’s content. It highlights key information and displays the counts of works, peer reviews, and funding items. The information shown depends on the public data found within the users ORCID record. Private information will not be shown or included in the counts.
The record summary can also be integrated into various workflows.
What is the difference between validated and self asserted items?
Validated items are those added by a trusted ORCID member organization (e.g. a publisher, funder or research institution). Self-asserted items are those that have been manually added to the record by the record owner.
- Validated – Added by a trusted ORCID member organization
- Self asserted – Added directly by the user
The record summary is available on the ORCID profile, to the right of the ORCID iD, without the need to log in. More about the summary can be found here.
