The National ISSN Centre (NC ISSN) is one of the 95 national centres that make up the ISSN network. At the request of a publisher or library, it assigns ISSNs to print and electronic newspapers, magazines, scientific journals, conference proceedings, editorial series and other so-called continuing resources published in the Czech Republic. It processes records about them in the national ISSN database and in the international register – ISSN Portal.
The national ISSN database contains records of continuing resources published in the Czech Republic and registered by the NC ISSN. It consists of close to 18,000 records containing important information such as title, ISSN, publisher, place of publication, years of publication, language, previous and subsequent titles, appendices, etc., according to which the database can be searched. The database is freely accessible to the general public. The data is updated continuously. Those applying for an ISSN assignment will be informed about the processing of their request by email. Additions to the database can be followed via RSS.
