Launch of the DataCite Metadata Schema 4.7

The DOI registration agency DataCite has announced the release of a new version of its metadata schema, version 4.7.

Summary of the main changes:

New value “Presentation” and “Poster” for the resourceTypeGeneral field
Based on feedback from the user community, the resourceTypeGeneral field na supports also these new values, so moving forward these types of objects can be more clearly identified and easier to find.

Support for linking to RAiD and SWHID identifiers

DataCite records can now also link records with RAiD(Research Activity Identifier) a SWHID (SoftWare Hash IDentifiers)

Increasing relationType Flexibility

DataCite has also added a new type of link to “Other” objects and also introduced a new field relationTypeInformation, which allows you to specify and provide more detailed information about the link between 2 objects.
