The international conference on persistent identifiers PIDfest 2026 is coming up. The second year of the event will take place from October 27-29 2026 in Leiden, the Nederlands. This year’s theme is Keeping Knowledge Connected, divided into three topics:
- Strenghtening community (energizing a global PID community collaborating across disciplines, sectors and regions)
- Adressing Challenges (confronting barriers to PID adoption and sustainablity)
- Demonstrating Value (showcasing tangible and potential benefits of PIDs for all stakeholders)
You can submit your entries until March 22. Applications will then be anonymized and reviewed by the Programme Committee, who aim to contact everyone about their decisions by April 30 (a writing guide for proposals with ideas on how to pitch your session might come handy when compiling your application).
The first year was organized by the National Library of Technology in June 2024. The conference materials are available here.
