ORCID has long been committed to openness and annually publishes the ORCID Public Data File, which contains publicly available information from ORCID profiles. This dataset is used for various analyses and tracking trends in open science. Until now, working with this data required downloading and processing it locally, which posed a challenge for some users.
Thanks to our collaboration with Digital Science, the ORCID Public Data File is now available for the first time on the cloud-based platform Google Big Query (GBQ). GBQ is a fully managed analytics platform optimized for handling large datasets. This means that users can now easily explore and analyze ORCID data online, without the need to download it or perform complex technical setup.

Find out more about what the data includes, usage possibilities, and policies here.
We would love to hear how you are using ORCID public data!
